Homelessness Heat Map and State Election Platform
Council to Homeless Persons has released the Victorian Homelessness Election Platform – a blueprint for ending homelessness in Victoria, and a Homeless Heat Map
Raise the rate
We call on the government to raise the single rate of Newstart, Youth Allowance and related payments.
Australia’s housing system is broken. A generation of homeowners has been priced out by investors. There is a shortage of secure, affordable rental properties. And more and more people are being pushed into homelessness. This is why we've joined the 'Everybody's Home' campaign.
Ending family violence: a community responsibility
This collection of videos highlights that a lack of respect for women is the starting point for family violence. We call for a community change in attitudes as a vital part of ending violence towards women.
'It's what you don't see': family violence awareness in Aboriginal communities
We are supporters of the campaign 'It's what you don't see' which raises awareness of family violence and its impact on Aboriginal children. It was developed by the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency.
16 days of activism 2018
The 16 days of activism, a UN Women initiative, is an international call for family violence to be eradicated, and this year’s theme #hearmetoo calls on us to listen to women and children who have experienced violence.
More affordable housing
The Council to Homeless Persons has released their State Budget Submission 2018-2019, calling on the State Government to increase the stock of affordable accommodation for Victorians. The women accessing McAuley's range of services are some of the people who are at risk of homelessness due to the lack of affordable housing.
